We need your feedback!

GSGLA continually strives to provide opportunities, resources, and events that attract and engage our membership, and make the most of every Girl Scout Experience. To do this well, we need to hear from you.

Please take a moment to provide your ideas, comments, input, and stories for the topics below. We certainly appreciate your taking the time to give us feedback.

What are GSGLA values?

What are the core values that will guide and shape the way we fulfill our mission to "build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place"?

How will we demonstrate those values in our everyday dealings with the world?

As part of the continuing advancement of our organization, this choice of values will affect you, our volunteers, girls and young women, therefore we are including you in the process by asking you to tell us what resonates with you. We would like to get input from you through a survey requiring 12 responses and an optional comments section.

What makes a great annual meeting and volunteer recognition event?

Whether or not you attended, please take a moment to give us feedback on this year's Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Ceremony. If you attended, let us know what your thoughts. If you did not, tell us why not. We want to know how to best serve you.

Did you earn Girl Scouts' highest honor?

On June 13 we'll be honoring the 2010 GSGLA Girl Scout Gold Award Recipients. Did you earn Girl Scouts' highest honor -- the Gold Award, Curved Bar or First Class? If so, we want to know.

We are collecting information in anticipation of our 100th Anniversary Celebration. If you or someone you know has earned the highest honor in Girl Scouting, please let us know.

Do Journeys bring you joy?

Are you a volunteer who loves the new Girl Scout Journeys? Do you have an innovative idea that you've incorporated in the Journey process? Would you like to share a fabulous example of how a Journey has helped make a connection to discovering, connecting, or taking action for your Girl Scouts? Then share your success stories!

Any and all stories or ideas related to the Journeys are welcome. Please forward your story, along with your name, troop #, troop level, and a contact phone number/email address to Susan Galeas, GSGLA Vice President - Central Region, at sgaleas@girlscoutsla.org.

October 3, 2010 - Family Science Festival

The date is set and the location is fabulous! The 2010 GSGLA Family Science Festival will take place Sunday, October 3, 2010 on the campus of Cal Tech! The event, in association with JPL, will be spectacular, so be sure to save the date and share the news.

Shannon Johnston named Chief Service Delivery Officer

After a four-month national search, our own Shannon Johnston has been appointed as the first GSGLA Chief Service Delivery Officer. Shannon has 30 years with the Girl Scouts in a variety of roles as a volunteer and staff, most recently as Regional VP with responsibility for the Southwest and North Regions. Pre-realignment, Shannon served as CEO of the Greater Long Beach Legacy Council. Prior to Shannon's career in Girl Scouts, she held several executive level positions in the healthcare/insurance industry. Shannon brings a great blend of internal institutional knowledge with the astute ability to manage change and growth, grounded on a foundation of integrity.

"I am so pleased that Shannon will be taking on the leadership role focusing upon volunteers, membership, and programs," said CEO Lise L. Luttgens. "Her history and depth of experience in many different and meaningful Girl Scout roles will add great value to GSGLA's focus on service delivery."
