Progress and pride were the order of the day at the 2010 Annual Meeting & Volunteer Recognition Ceremony on April 24. Hundreds of GSGLA volunteers congregated at the beautiful Skirball Cultural Center to reflect on the first year of Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles and celebrate our volunteer awardees.
Annual Meeting participants enjoyed encouraging, dynamic remarks from keynote speaker Debra Nakatomi, GSUSA National Board of Directors member, GSUSA International Commissioner and founder of Nakatomi and Associates here in LA. Inspiring and substantial progress was presented at the meeting and reflected in the 2009 annual report.
The Volunteer Recognition event, peppered with the great energy from the emcee, KCAL 9 news anchor Leyna Nguyen, was a grand success as the council honored 93 award recipients for their outstanding service to the girls and GSGLA, and then enjoyed a delicious lunch in the venue's picturesque Taper Courtyard.
With all the day's excitement, participants were also privy to a sneak preview of the new Girl Scout Brand Identity and an empowering video about the brand messaging. Plus, the council pin and patch were revealed! Save the date for the 2011 annual meeting and volunteer recognition ceremony on April 16, 2011.
