Girl Scouts give to US Troops
The Gift of Caring Cookie Donation Program is more than just an extra box sold. Girl Scouts want to be a part of the entire process! Last Tuesday, girls from Troops 484, 1102, 8095, 12324, 9185, 925, and 6101 descended upon the USO at LAX to unload and store 5,000 boxes of cookies for our first phase delivery.
Do you want to be a part of the Gift of Caring (GOC) service opportunities such as assembling care packages for Operation Gratitude (ages 12+), putting Gift of Caring labels on cookie boxes (ages 11 and under), or putting Girl Scout cookies into backpacks for under-served children (ages 14+)?
Send your GOC service request to communications@girlscoutsla.org and be sure to put "GOC Service" in the subject line. April dates and details are being confirmed.

Girl Scout cookie updates
The cookies are coming, the cookies are coming!
Cookie deliveries begin this week! Can you feel the excitement in the air? Check GreenBeans for your particular cookie pick-up date, time, and location.
This issue of "Miranda's Panda-gram" is about Cookie Cupboards, Cookie Billboards, new Cookie Texting, and more! GSGLA is providing tools and resources, but we've got you covered for promotion, too. We are driving customers to you in a number of ways, so make sure your troop is signed up for cookie boothing via the GreenBeans Booth Scheduler! There are still thousands of cookie booth sites available and you can select any GSGLA location. Boothing begins February 26!
Look for more Panda-grams in your email for brief e-updates about Cookie Program resources.
Tip of the week: Tweet, post, and talk about your cookie booths. Get the word out!
Cookie Cupboards
You know you want more. It's easy to get more cookies at the cookie cupboards. This year you can go to any GSGLA cookie cupboard you want. That's right, you can get more product and fast, friendly service at any cookie cupboard in the GSGLA jurisdiction. Cookie exchanges will be available at most cupboards March 1-15.
Please make a cupboard reservation through GreenBeans to help us serve you better.
Cookie Billboards!
Our name is in lights! There are 10 fabulous GSGLA billboards going up all over LA County and outlying areas, including a digital billboard!
These larger-than-life signs include the faces of some of our very own Girl Scouts alongside one of three different cookie messages: Buy a Box, Get a Box, and Want a Box?
In addition to billboards, there are bus signs and junior posters (smaller billboards) all over our communities, and coffee sleeves, too. Next time you order your favorite hot beverage at your favorite local coffee shop or cafe, you might be lucky enough to get a GSGLA coffee sleeve!
As they are confirmed, we will share a list of billboard locations in a future Panda-gram. Here's where you can find cookie sleeves beginning Monday, February 22: GSGLA Coffee Sleeve Campaign
In the meantime, if you see one, take a picture or let us know or just smile knowing you're part of a great program and a great message.
U cn txt 4 cookies 2! LOL!
Step into the future! This year, we're introducing text technology to the Cookie Program. GSGLA Cookie fans (and fiends) can simply text their zip code to gs@girlscoutsla.org and they will get a message back listing two nearby cookie booth locations for that day (beginning February 26).
The system is up and functional, so try it now!
The text address can receive zip code messages from e-mail addresses in addition to text messages from cell phones and other mobile devices. Customers looking for cookies can also go to the GSGLA website and click on the Cookie Locator to see all booths within a zip code.
Remember, if you're not using the GreenBeans Boothing Scheduler, your cookie booth cannot be included in any of these cookie finder technologies.
GSGLA Cookie Stardom on KTLA!
The Thin Mints are ready for their close-ups! GSGLA Girl Scouts and all the delicious cookie varieties will be on the KTLA Morning Show Thursday, February 25. We will also be doing a simultaneous live remote on GO Country 105 FM! Superstar fabulous!
The telecast is in support of our Cookie Program and in particular, Gift of Caring. Make sure you tune in to KTLA, Channel 5 on Thursday morning between 7-10 am for the 2010 Cookie Program's television debut!
